First, the default Shopify template was difficult to use from a customer’s perspective, which also makes it hard for Google. We made customizations to the Debut theme and redesigned the category pages to improve usability and SEO.

To increase awareness, we designed a newsletter template and provided content suggestions that would interest their target audience, young families in Vancouver. We also identified which local media outlets and blogs would be best for outreach, and provided content briefs for sponsored posts which resulted in an instant and sustained boost in traffic.

We also created a marketing strategy that improved engagement. This included:

• Implementing a marketing automation system
• Creating SOP’s for speeding up adding products and posting on social media
• Creating a credit system to increase donations
• Seasonal promotions with coupons
• Highlighting new items to increase turnover
